For our second hotel in Jakarta, we opted for Amaris Hotel Juanda. This is a new hotel, so the inside looks great. The rooms are simply furnished, but perfect for our needs. It cost around $42 per night with Agoda, which is very reasonable for the quality and location. Click here to book a room at Amaris Hotel Juanda via Agoda.
It’s only around 1 km from Gambir train station, and very close to Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta Cathedral and National Monument. In fact, we can see the mosque from our hotel room, and can see National Monument from the hotel lobby.
As well as a comfortable bed, the room also has a desk and chair, a safety deposit box, and a rail to hang clothes. There are two cups in the room, with hot water being available from a water dispenser in the corridor outside the room.
The bathroom was very high quality, and this was a real bonus for us. It was one of the reasons we decided to stay here for four days.
There is parking space at the front of the hotel, although this is limited to around ten cars.
Breakfast, which is served from 6-10 am in the restaurant area next to the lobby, has a wide selection of dishes to choose from, including plenty for vegetarians and vegan. The restaurant area is very clean and modern.
