If you love cats, then a visit to one of Bangkok’s cat cafes is a purrfect way to spend some time. Cat cafes are taking Asia by storm, and at the time of writing Bangkok has five. We decided to pay one of them a visit. If you’re planning to visit Bangkok, be sure to check out the great range of hotels at Agoda.
Purr Cat Cafe Club
This is the closest cat cafe to our condo, so we decide to pay it a visit. It’s about a 5-10 minute walk from Thonglor BTS station, but you can get a motorbike taxi from the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 53 if you don’t want to walk.
You’ll know you’ve reached the cafe when you see the above sign. Take your shoes off before entering the cafe – you’ll be given slippers to wear inside.
Once inside you’ll be asked to wash your hands, and you’ll then be taken through to the cafe area at the back of the building. You’ll also be given a menu and a list of rules to follow. These include not playing roughly with the cats, not lifting them onto your lap, not feeding them cake, etc.
Once you’ve ordered you’re then free to play with cats, most of who seemed to prefer to sleep while we were there. All the cats were quite friendly though.
When the coffee arrived, it had a cat’s face drawn into it.
This cat heard a loud noise outside and ran over to us for protection. Then he settled down and fell asleep next to us.
The cafe even had a delivery room, and one of the cats had given birth around two weeks ago.

If you love cats then you’ll probably love this cafe.
