We stayed in Surin, in North East Thailand, for a week, and opted to stay at the Majestic Twin Hotel. This hotel can be booked for either daily or monthly stays. Daily cost is 500 baht ($17); monthly cost is 7,000 baht ($235). The hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk from the city center.
The rooms at this hotel are quite spacious, and have balconies looking over the surrounding district. The rooms at the back of the hotel have a more rural view, with many banana trees.
The room has aircon, free wifi, tv, fridge, desk and chair, and hanging and shelf space for clothes.
The bathroom was a decent size, but had a Thai-style shower that isn’t separated from the rest of the bathroom. But the bathroom is large enough that water from the shower doesn’t get the toilet wet, as often happens.
There is hot water available in the lobby area, and coffee and cakes are served (for free) in the morning. There are a limited number of snacks and drinks for sale in the lobby area.
This hotel also has a fitness center on the third floor. It’s well equipped and has a nice view overlooking the city, but it doesn’t have any aircon. It’s very hot in the room even without exercising, so unless you can borrow a fan, you might not be able to use it.
The staff here have very limited English skills, but unless you need to ask about anything too complicated, you should be ok. There is a laundry shop opposite the hotel, and a few local restaurants within a few minutes’ walk.
