In October every year the Navaratri Hindu Festival is celebrated in Bangkok, with the center of activities based around Sri Maha Mariamman Temple on Silom Road. The procession route is around four kilometers and there are Hindu shrines all the way around the route. Here are the images from this year’s festival. There are also some images of the preparation for the Navaratri Festival. Click here to book a hotel in Silom near the Navaratri Festival.
This is the largest religious festival that I’ve ever seen. It’s more amazing because it’s a Hindu festival in the heart of a Buddhist country. Even the Thai people joined in.
The shrines were amazing. There were 100s of them spread around the festival route.
