Siamese Studio is a small boutique hotel that’s newly opened, and is just a few minutes walk from Central Rama 9 Shopping Mall. There is also a new mall that’s just opened that is only 1-2 minutes’ walk away. This hotel is great value and we’d definitely stay there again. Click here to book a room at Siamese Studio.
What we liked best about our room was that it had a separate seating area, so it felt more like a small condo than a hotel room. The bed was on a raised area just behind the sofa.
There were concrete steps up to the sleeping area, so this might not be suitable for someone who’s a bit frail. It could also be a little dangerous if you get up in the night and forget that you’re on a raised area.
The bathroom was small, but well laid out. For some reason it has a window between the bathroom and the main room.
There’s also a small desk and chair, a fridge/mini bar, kettle and free tea, coffee and water.
The wifi was the fastest we’ve had anywhere in Thailand – over 40 Mbps download and over 5 Mbps upload.
As well as being within walking distance of shopping malls and the MRT (underground), it’s also only a short taxi ride from both Bangkok Hospital and Piyavate Hospital, so is a good place to stay if you need to visit either of them.
There a very nice cafe downstairs, which is where breakfast is served.
The above room is a Superior King room.
