Silom has lots of great places that vegetarians can eat at, which is one of the reasons that I love this area so much. This is a pretty comprehensive list, and I don’t think I’ve missed anywhere. But if I find any new veggie places in Silom, I’ll add them to this page. Most of these places are vegan, and you can get vegan food at all of them. There are also around 10 Indian vegetarian restaurants in Silom, which I’ve written a separate post about.
Tien Sin Vegetarian, Soi Si Wiang
This shophouse restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat, and I eat here every week when I’m in Bangkok. The food is very tasty, the choice is fairly extensive, and the price is very reasonable indeed. The above meal that I had today cost just 40 baht ($1.35). Walk into Soi Si Wiang from Charoenkrung Road end, and Tien Sin is about 20-30 meters along to your left. It’s just behind State Tower and Lebua Hotel.
This place doesn’t look much from the outside, but it is well worth a visit. It gets totally packed at lunchtimes, and the norm is to share a table. So don’t worry about having to sit with someone else that’s already eating. This restaurant and the Tien Sin at Soi Pipat 2 are not related.
Tien Sin, Soi Si Wiang Details

Opening Hours: Mon-Sat 07:00-15:00; Sun Closed; May also be closed on Chinese and Thai holidays
Tien Sin Vegetarian, Soi Pipat 2
This is another of my favorite vegetarian places in Silom. I used to live just around the corner, so have been there a countless number of times. It’s a family-run place that’s only open weekday lunchtimes, when it gets quite busy. There are around 10 tables inside and out, but it can still be difficult to get a table at the height of the lunchtime rush.
There is a good choice of food here, with about 12-16 hot dishes available every day. Some dishes are the same every day, but many are rotated. They also sell other veggie food such as sandwiches, noodles, etc. Prices are very reasonable. We paid 100 baht ($3.35) for 3 plates of food – the two show in the image above, plus one extra one.
If you’re not used to the area, this could be difficult to find. Soi Pipat 2 is a street that connects Convent Road and Soi Pipat. Walk from the Soi Pipat end, and you’ll see a very small lane about 30 meters in to your left. At lunchtime they have a big yellow sign On Soi Pipat 2 pointing to the food stall. The sign isn’t there at other times, and you’d never guess there was a restaurant there at all. This restaurant and the Tien Sin at Soi Si Wiang are not related.

A-Ma
A-Ma is yet another of my favorite veggie places in Bangkok, and I eat here often. It’s on Pan Road, just a few shops up from Sri Maha Mariamman Temple. If you’re a vegetarian, then Pan Road is a great place to head for, as there are four vegetarian restaurants on this street. A-Ma has been open for around four years, and in incredibly popular, especially at lunchtimes, when it’s sometimes difficult to get a seat.
A-Ma is owned and run by a husband and wife, both of whom are very friendly. There is usually a choice of around 6-8 hot dishes, plus 4-6 different types of fake meat. They also have various other dishes which change day to day. Food here usually costs 30-60 baht ($1-2).

Address: 12 Pan Road (near Sri Maha Mariamman Temple)
Opening Hours: Mon-Fri 09:30-17:00; Sat-Sun Closed; May also be closed on Chinese and Thai holidays
Pan Road Veggie Street Stall
This is yet another place to eat vegetarian food in Pan Road. There are six vegetarian places in this small street. This place is the only street stall though. Just order your food at the counter and then sit at on of the three small tables on the pavement. I love this place because not only does it serve good quality brown rice, but it’s also open seven days a week, apart from every alternate Monday, when it’s closed.
You’ll recognize this place by the bright yellow veggie flags that adorn the stall. It’s just across the road from A-Ma and run by a friendly family. They sometimes also sell somtum here.

Krua Jay
This is a family run shophouse style restaurant that’s been open for decades. It’s on the Sathorn side of Sathorn Road, so not strictly in Silom, but close enough that it’s worth including. There is usually a choice of about 10 hot dishes, plus many types of fake meat. They also have a dish of the day, so check what that it, as it’s usually to the side of the main dishes.
All the tables have teapots with free tea. You also get free soup with most dishes. This is a pretty popular place and is always full at lunchtimes. Usual cost is 30-60 baht ($1-2).

Silom Square Food Court Vegetarian
There is a large covered market at Silom Square which also has a very large and very popular food court. Even though there are hundreds of seats it can still be difficult yo find somewhere to sit at the height of the lunchtime rush. If you enter the market from the Silom Road end, via Silom Soi 10, the vegetarian stall is on the left hand side towards the back of the market. You can’t miss it, as it has yellow flags hanging next to it. Silom Soi 10 is a very short lane that has the Silom Square market directly behind it.
The always have brown rice and a choice of about six hot dishes, plus a few fake meats. They also have a daily special noodle dish. Prices are usually around 30-60 baht ($1-2). The food is freshly cooked and the quality is very good. This food court is where all the office staff seem to eat.

SV Vegetarian At Sathorn Soi 8 Food Court (Closed)
When I first moved to Bangkok over three years ago I lived just around the corner from this food court, so used to eat there often. Today was the first time I’d been back in about 18 months, and I’m glad to report that the food is just as good as i remember it. Turn into Sathorn Soi 8 from Sathorn Road and the food court is on the right just passed the row of small shops. SV Vegetarian is towards the back. Just look for the yellow flags.
There is a great choice of food here and the owner is very friendly and helpful. They also serve brown rice, which many places in Thailand don’t sell.

Long Fu Vegetarian
Most vegetarian restaurants in the Silom area close by around 5 pm, so it’s good to have one that’s open later. Long Fu opens fro 3-9 pm. They also do Kundalini Yoga upstairs. The food here is freshly good and reasonably priced. The above dish with rice cost 60 baht ($2), and most dishes are around that price. They have photos of the dishes on the wall, so you can just point to what you want. The owner speaks English though, so you can order something different if you want.
The restaurant is located on Charoenkrung Road Soi 44, around 50 meters in, on the left hand side. It’s very easy to find once you’re on the street. It’s about a 5-minute walk from Saphan Taksin BTS.

Tien Sin, Silom Soi 32 Food Court (CLOSED)
Yet another place called Tien Sin, but no relation to the other two mentioned above. This place is located in the food court behind Family Mart at Silom Soi 32. Just walk to the left or right of Family Mart, and you’ll find the food court at the back. It gets very packed with local office workers at lunchtimes. The meal above cost 55 baht ($1.85) – rice, three dishes and veggie sausage.
There is usually a choice of around six dishes, plus one or two specials of the day and sometimes a few fake meats or spring rolls. This is one of the few veggie places in the area that’s also open on Saturdays.

UPDATE: This food court has been knocked down. I did see this stall owner selling only takeaway food out the pavement nearby once, but I’m not sure if he’s still there. I’ll update this if I find out.
Dang Vegetarian, Silom Soi 32 Food Court (CLOSED)
This place is in the same food court as Tien Sin (above). It mainly sells noodle dishes, so is a little different from Tien Sin. There are two Dang stalls next to each other – one sells meat and the other is veggie – same owner.

City Food Plaza Vegetarian At United Center Building
City Food Plaza is a food court on the third floor of United Center Building. Just take the escalators up and the food court will be right in front of you. The vegetarian stall is in the corner to the right. It didn’t have a name above it like the other stalls, so I assume it’s quite new. Rice and two dishes costs 45 baht ($1.50). It’s disappointing that they only have white rice here.
This food court operates a coupon system. So you need to buy coupons from the desk just to the left of the entrance, and then use these coupons to buy food. Take any unused coupons back for a refund.
This food court also has a soy milk stall just to the right of the entrance. It’s called SOYdidi. It’s open Mon-Fri 07:00-17:00. See Bangkok Soy Milk for further details. Note that SOYdidi sells non-vegetarian steamed buns.

Bonita Cafe And Social Club
This is the most expensive vegetarian restaurant in Silom, but it’s also one of the best. Rather than being a shophouse like most of the others, this is more of a proper restaurant. They even serve an all day vegan breakfast, which I haven’t seen served anywhere else in Bangkok. It costs 295 baht ($10). Bonita’s has an extensive menu, and all food is freshly cooked. Main meals tend to cost around 180-300 baht ($6-10).
It’s about 100 meters away from the Myanmar Embassy. From Sathorn Road, turn into Pan Road and Bonita’s will be around 100 meters on your left. They also stock Vibram’s Five Finger shoes (barefood running shoes), and even have a running club that’s based here. Well worth checking out.
It’s also one of the few veggie places in the area that’s open until 10 pm.
